God's Rescue Plan
"For God
so loved the world that he gave his only Son [Jesus],
that whoever
believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life".
(John 3 v16)
Our problem
Our sins or wrong doings (no matter
how small) have cut us off from God.
Our wrong doings prevent us from living as God intended.
Our wrong doings (unless something is done about it)
will send us to hell.
Because of our sins we are in danger.
God's love
Despite our rebellion and failure to live as were meant
to live, God still loves us and wants a relationship
with us. However, we can only have a relationship with
God if something is done about our sins (wrong doings).
What do we need rescuing
from ?
Punishment for our sins.
God's rescue plan
God's rescue plan centers on his son Jesus. Jesus came
to earth to pay the price for ours sins.
That is, he die on a cross to take the full punishment
for our sins.
The punishment for our sins paid for by Jesus's death
The following quotes are
from the Bible:
"... he [Jesus] came to
serve and to give his life to redeem many people". (Mark
10v45)
"At one time you
were far away from God and were his enemies because of
the evil things you did and thought. But now, by means
of the physical death of his Son [Jesus], God has made
you his friends, in order to bring you, holy, pure, and
faultless, into his presence" (Colossians 1v21-22)
"..Jesus came into
the world to save sinners ..." (1 Timothy 1v15)
After dying Jesus was
raised from the dead by God. Those who
repent of their sins
and put their faith in Jesus
will have their sins dealt with and
forgiven, and hence they will be able to live for
eternity with God.
Will you be rescued ?
One day each of us will die and face God's judgment.
Those that have rejected
God's rescue plan will be punished for every wrong thing
that they have done or thought. They will be separated
from God forever. It's important to note that the Bible
tells us that God knows all our thoughts and everything
that we have done. (Refer to Psalms 139). No one can
fool God. (Galations 6v7).
Those that have accepted
God's rescue plan will be welcomed into God's presence
in heaven. They will not be punished for all their
wrong doings, as the punishment for their sins has
already been dealt with by Jesus.
The following quote is from
the Bible:
"Whoever believes in the Son [Jesus] has eternal
life; whoever disobeys the Son will not have eternal
life, but will remain under God's punishment" (John
3v36).
Will you be rescued ? The
choice is up to you.

Terms:
faith in Jesus: By this we mean that :
i) you believe that Jesus' death has paid the price
for your wrong doings.
ii) that you will seek live your life according to
Jesus' instruction.
repenting of your sins: To be sorry for your
sins, to tell God that your sorry for your sins, and to
seek to turn away from your sins. You are not repenting
if you say that you are sorry and yet plan to continue
doing the wrong thing.
sin: Sin is essentially doing things our way
instead of God's way. Daily we disobey God and sin
through such things as dishonesty, boasting, swearing,
hate, greed, and gossiping (to name a few). The more we
learn about God and his will for our life the more we
realise just how much we sin.
